Domaine Bobinet
Domaine Bobinet
Domaine Bobinet began after Sébastien Bobinet inherited two hectares of vineyards and an old cellar dug deep into a limestone cave on the banks of the Loire. Years later with the help of his partner Eméline, using non-interventionist techniques, their vineyards have grown, reaching cult status in the region of Saumur and contributing to the lands biodiversity. They use a horse drawn plow, harvest by hand and ferment with natural yeast making fresh, aromatic wine true to its terroir.
Amateüs Bobi is their first cuvée from a 65-year old parcel of clay and limestone. The grapes are destemmed, macerated for 4 to 5 weeks and aged in a barrel for a year, making it a structured wine with a lively nose and stoney minerality. Terroir you can taste! Les Landes is a silky, rich and complex wine born out of a plot of red clay and flint that adds to its identity. They use a little more extraction during the maceration, producing fine tannins, before ageing the wine for 18 months in barrels. After the domaine acquired some new vineyards, the versatile Ruben emerged in 2011 as the first wine Eméline and Sebastien made together. It is a Cabernet Franc, aged for 7 months in barrels with a delicate structure and velvety tannins that can accompany a wide variety of dishes.
