Puzelat-Bonhomme
Puzelat-Bonhomme
The now defunct Puzelat-Bonhomme began as a project between Pierre-O Bonhomme and Thierry Puzelat before Bonhomme set up Domaine Pierrie-Olivier Bonhomme and Puzelat returned to his family’s estate Clos du Tue Bœuf. Puzelat initially intended to diversify his business creating a small négociant to support local organic grape growers. The project grew, so he took on Bonhomme and their domaine was born, with a focus on saving endangered indigenous grape varieties like Menu Pineau, Fié Gris, Chardonnay Musqué and Pinot Meunier. The two vignerons have garnered a reputation for their wines both as a team and in their domaines.
A play on words, In Côt We Trust, is made from Malbec (locally known as Côt) from Touraine. It is whole bunch fermented with natural yeasts and bottled un-fined and unfiltered. It has a medium body with dark fruits, hints of meats like bacon and a robust character.
