Halarà
Halarà
Inspired by the Mediterranean land, Nino Barraco, Corrado Dottori (of La Distesa) and some talented winemaking friends created Halará as a homage to the region with the simple idea of restoring vineyards from abandon to expressive glory. They currently work with two hectares of north-facing vineyards planted with Catarratto and Parpato making use of the marriage of the Sicilian sun, the calcareous soils, the wind over the hills and the fresh sea.
The Rosso made from Parpato – a rare variety that is possibly related to Grenache, is a light red with a flavour of black fruits and spices that pair well with Mediterranean cuisine. On the other hand, the Rosato is a balanced but intriguing wine made from both Catarratto and Parpato with semi-carbon maceration that enhance its olfactory profile of herbs and fruit.
