Jean and Catherine Montanet founded the Domaine de la Cadette in 1987 in the village of Saint-Pére, a part of Burgundy that has seen wine production for centuries. Montanet’s vineyards grow on a steep south-facing slope of the Morvan mountain giving the grapes a breezy climate as well as great sun exposure. The soil is composed of marl and limestone which combined with the climate giving the wines a balance of generous fruit and deep minerality.

The ‘L’Ermitage’ is a vibrant red Burgundy made from Pinot Noir and Cesar, an indigenous variety of the region. Grapes are partially destemmed before fermenting for 10 days. Maturation takes place in old oak barrels for nine months giving the wine a velvety texture. Present on the nose are red fruits like cherries and cranberries that complement the earthiness on the mouth as well as the balanced acidity and elegant tannins.
