La Vigne du Perron
La Vigne du Perron
In 1993 François Grinand left his job as a piano teacher to start making wine in his home town of Villebois, in the Savoie. After a few false starts and several poor harvests, the estate was reborn in 2009 as Domaine du Perron . The vineyards are accessible on foot only; on only two hectares he farms Pinot Noir, Gamay, Mondeuse, Altesse and Chardonnay. François favours low-yielding vineyard management, hand-harvesting and non-interventionist cellar work.
